Writing Genre #1 (Project for Published Writing)

Writing
by Christina Williams
For a long time I have been thinking about writing. For me personally, I love to write. Writing is very important to people because it is another way to educate peoples’ minds. These are  frequently asked questions about writing that I want to explain.
     Why is writing so important?
Lots of times people have often asked this question. I think writing is very cool. Some ideas just “pop” into a writer’s mind. The writer can’t do other things because these are constantly bothering him/her. The only thing that will make it go away is to write it all down. At first, it may not make much sense. But, with some work of revising it, writing can be a piece of art!!

What should I write about?
You can write about anything you choose to. Ideas don’t magically “pop” into your head so quickly. What I meant was, writers get inspirations for their writing. (Or where their writing comes from.) Some just think deeply about their ideas slowly. Some, like I said need more information about their topics so they just might finish their writing more than a month!! But, I’ll give you a tip: Before they write they always brainstorm. Your teachers might say, “Always brainstorm first before you write!” You might groan. But really, brainstorm can help you to get your thoughts down on paper.

But writing is so boring! Why write? Why do writers choose to write, than do any other hobby?

I guess you could say it’s their talent to write. But I won’t force you to write. But I’ll tell you why I write for an 8th grader. I admit when I was little I loved to write stories. Writing was part of my inspiration to be creative and imagitive. Writing gives you the motivation to learn knew things. When a writer discovers something he writes it all down. Just like Thomas Edison, when he created the first light bulb. Something new was created and he wrote it down and that became history. When people read something, it’s not all that boring. Discoveries are all part of history, which are all part of writing.

What do you like about writing? Why does it interest you?  What was your inspiration to write?

My inspiration to write is reading books. I like books that are historical fiction. Some have  adventures in them. So, here’s my point. Whenever I read a book, I think, “Wow, I want to write a story kind of like that,” or “I want to write a poem.”
Sometimes I get my inspirations from the news. I just want to write a book on my opinion. Other times, I write in my journal.

So, here’s my question: What do you believe in writing? What can you do to improve your writing?
If you’re still clueless or lost here are some quotes to help about writing.

I like to write, I don’t know about you, but writing is your own choice. You can make it for yourself. But, it is a good choice to make, because writing is awesome!!

THE END

My Favorite Moment in my Life

I have never had a brother or sister  before. I was about 5 years old when my brother and sister were  born.  This is my story how I got my twin brother and sister, I remember like it was yesterday............................................

I was in my little bed. It was so soft and comfortable. Every time, I sat on it or looked at the comforter, I always had a flashback of all my memories. (It was a Whinnie-The-Pooh bed). At the  time, I was really lonesome. Of course there were other kids in my neighborhood. In fact these were the kids I really knew the most. I had no pets, either. I had my toys and books and my bed. Since I was homeschooled, I didn't see my friends often.I was homeschooled beacuse my parents felt that they should teach me, instead of teachers teaching me. I could also learn things that  the teachers couldn't teach me. They were in public schools, which means they rode buses. Sometimes they were at a friend's house or just couldn't play.

One night, my parents, seeing that I was really lonesome, asked me if I wanted a brother or sister. Now for a little girl like me, I realized that they asked no one else but me. This was pretty special. I had never had either on of them so I couldn't choose. So I simply said, "Both." Now, in my head I was thinking, "Instead of one, two means twice the fun!" The look of shock was on their faces. They told me, "No, you can only have one."  But I got the better of them. I insisted that I have both. So they left, and I didn't realize how difficult it would be.

The next day, I was in my room. My room was my favorite place to be. It was quiet and gentle as a forest. The walls were painted that way, too. There were trees and birds. A birdhouse and a rabbit. My favorite was the colorful kite that was painted beside my bed. It was a beautiful room. Months passed and I thought was never going to the hospital. But finally, she did.

Often, I stayed at my nana's house or my grandfather's house. Waiting seemed like a million years and I was getting impatient. My dad stayed with my mom at the hospital. Once, I visited my mom and she looked tired, too. Nana took me to her house and the scent of fresh cookies greeted us at the door. I worried that my wish wouldn't come true.  Then, one afternoon the phone rang. My nana picked it up and her lit up like a lamp, with joy. She told me,"You have a new little sister and brother. Caroline and Joshua Williams."  You can imagine how excited I was.
We visited them in the hospital the next day. Everyone came to see them. My grandfather was very happy, because he got to hold them for the first time. They were small, to me. Of course they had to stay in the hospital. But sure enough, the hospital released them, and they could come home to us.

This was my favorite moment of my life. I have other favorites, too. But this story is my 1st.
